Sharks vs Tigers

After a long first quarter battle, Cole Citarella slides one in for the game's first score. A few minutes later Reece Lakritz joins in with a nice spin move around the defender to kick another goal. Dominic Moresco and Matthew Frey provided excellent defense to help keep the Tigers at bay.

In addition, you couldn't help but notice the nice passing by Ethan Raftery and Grant Silva, providing opportunities for our team. The game culminated in two long distance runs for goals by both Zoe Shepherd and Gregory Brown. Check out the photos below, and you may be able to catch a glimpse of them.

And of course, I'd be amiss not to mention Bailey Bernales, going out and doing her part today to help the Tigers on their successful run!

Sharks vs Wizards

The Wizards provided us our greatest challenge of the season. This is the type of game that makes our kids exceed even our own expectations. The Wizards got off to a quick start scoring goals. But Reece Lakritz put a stop to that with his defensive stopping skills. We then got back on the board with Gregory Brown scoring with a long distance shot. Now that we were warmed up, Andrew Polkinghorne joined in on the fun by cutting through the masses and bending a shot into the corner for a goal. More goals were to be had thanks to the efforts of Grant Silva and Ethan Raftery who were definitely the play makers of the day. And congratulations to Bailey Bernales, showing off her speed as she kept up with the players on offense and defense. However, the highlight of the game award goes to Zoe Shepherd. She followed up her scoring goal by a most impressive leap into her dad's (Coach Shepherd) arms for a goal scoring hug. It doesn't get any better than that.

Sharks vs Thunderbolts

A fun day, as witnessed via the 6 min video below. Please don't expect a high quality production! We save that for Major League Soccer.

Sharks vs Indians

A few games into the season, and our Sharks already are starting with some breakthrough performances. For example, Zoe Shepherd amazed us today with her dribbling as she seemingly effortlessly floated by her defenders.Reece Lakritz teamed up with Gregory Brown and Ethan Raftery, passing back and forth to each other ending with Reece and Gregory scoring accordingly. Gregory Brown would later take the ball coast to coast to follow up with his own score. And what had to be one of the longest shots of the season, Matthew Frey scored with a long distance boot, that I'm not sure if any of the parents could even replicate. But this game wasn't all about offense. Today Dominic Moresco dominated on defense, stopping shots on goal throughout the game.

The Sharks wasted no time today. As soon as the whistle blew Cole Citarella scored within the first minute, with a smooth leaner landing into the corner of net. Grant Silva showed his teamwork by providing several assists. Way to go Sharks!
